QuickBooks is one of the most comprehensive accounting software packages on the market, and thousands of busy business owners use it every day. The software is popular for being a user-friendly and easy to use product.
QuickBooks is only as great as you make it. Check out a few of the hidden features we love.
#1 - Attachments
QuickBooks includes a feature that allows attachments to be added to nearly any transaction. You can even download the app if you are using QuickBooks Online and snap a picture of your receipt and upload it.
#2 - Audit Trail
The Audit Trail is always running in the background and records all transactions including who made the transaction, the date and time, and if there are any changes to the transaction. This feature is helpful for identifying a change and the author of that change.
#3 - Recent Transactions
In the ‘Magnifying Glass’ menu (online feature), you can access your most recent transactions quickly without going through a lot of clicks. For desktop, you can use the arrow keys in a transaction.
#4 - Recurring Transactions
You can simply set a transaction to recur and let the software do the work for you. Take advantage of this feature in Settings Gear Icon > Recurring Transactions (online) or go to the Lists menu, select Memorized Transaction List, Right-click the appropriate entry, then choose Edit Memorized Transaction for desktop.
#5 - Apps.com
You can head to apps.com and search for types of software you need to use and see if it integrates directly with QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks desktop also has many integrated apps.
#6 - Find
When searching for a transaction use the find feature. In Online it is the magnifying glass in the upper right corner. In desktop you can hold down CTRL+F to open the search parameters.
Hopefully, these quick tips can help you get started, advance your knowledge and save time on managing the finances for your business...if you need additional assistance with QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online our team of ProAdvisor's would love to help.
